Good Option to Color Matching Strips 10/4/2007 3:49 PM

"I own an Island Captiva spa. When my Aqua Chek digital meter arrived I found the directions very easy to follow after trying it for the first time. It was suprisingly accurate even trying tests back to back. Whether adding Bromine, Ph Up or Down, shock, scale protect etc. and optimizing your readings according to the chemical input, your spa water will turn out looking as clear as Sprite. The spa water is also very comfortable on the skin and eyes while bathing and long after you get out, you don't get that feeling on your skin that the chemicals are out of balance. I definitely recommend it."

Better then strips 5/27/2008 5:51 PM

"I have had my AquaCheck for two weeks now and use it frequently as I just opened the pool. It is easy to use and fast however, I found accuracy to be a problem. I have done back to back tests on three separate occasions and have found a 10% to 15% difference in readings. Bottom line I still have to go to the pool store if I want to be sure."

"This is definitely a nifty contraption! I never thought testing my water could be so easy. Thank goodness because there is room for error with test kits or strips. Usually my wife and I would argue over what color it was closest to. Now we can test and know exactly what needs to be done. WooHoo!"

"I cant stand guessing the readings on the strips or liquid test kits!! This digital reader is a life saver. I never have to guess again. I just put the strip in the pool, then into the reader, and it tells me what chemicals I need to add!!"

"All those years of guessing color codes and wondering about highs and lows, my prayers have been answered. It's so much easier to read. All I had to do was dip the strip and pop it in to the reader, and it gave me accurate digital readings. Thank god for technology."

"I am pleased with my decision to purchase this item. I was unsure if I really wanted another computer to do a persons job. But with getting up there in years my eyes seem to be going and it's hard to tell the difference in the colors sometimes on the strips of those pain in the butt liquid kits. The only problem I have with it, is sometimes it won't take a reading but I just dip another strip in the pool and try again. That may be my own fault though and not testing deep enough down. "

"This is a MUST HAVE item, if your like me and either A.) Need glasses or B.) Are tired of guessing? The Digital Reader is a great stocking gift, and I can't count how many test strips I have wasted, my digital reader takes all the guessing out and I get better readings then the local pool store."

"Easy to use and is right on at times with test kit and strips, but at other times readings are questionably off. I rated it 3 stars due to inconsistency."

"Finally a product that takes the guesswork out of pool readings. I wouldn't trade this machine for anything. The only caution is to make sure you wipe down the strip reader after your test is completed. Trace particles of the previous test "may" alter your next reading"

"WOW! FINALLY SOMETHING THAT CAN GIVE YOU A REALLY GOOD IDEA OF WHERE YOUR IMPORTANT POOL READING LEVELS ARE. WHAT A BREEZE, TURN IT ON, DIP THE STRIP, LAY IT IN THE CHANNEL, AND NUMBERS APPEAR ON THE SCREEN. HOW COOL IS THAT? NO MORE COLOR MATCHING AND TRYING TO DECIDE, IS THE PH LEVEL ALRIGHT? WHAT'S THE ALKALINITY REALLY AT? IS THE CHLORINE AMOUNT OK? WISH I HAD THIS 2 YEARS AGO!! "
